About us...

It started with a smile after dragon boat practice one early evening in the summer of 2011...

Because of timing, Leslie and Scott started out as friends, paddling with their dragon boat team the Alameda Dragonflyers, grabbing an occasional tasty ale and delicious food while just hanging out. Scott had a plan in place to move to Colorado for awhile to live closer to family. But after coming back to the Bay Area six months later, he knew he HAD to try and pursue a relationship of more than just friends with Leslie. After MUCH perseverance and a planned hike up the Claremont trail, Leslie finally realized she didn't want to lose out on how Scott treated her and let go of the opportunity to see where they could end up. (Lucky man!)

Flash forward to a European trip which included the spectacular seafood of Croatia, regional wines, beautiful scenery and a team-planned dragon boat race and regatta through the Venetian Islands.
One early morning, Leslie and Scott made a trip to St. Peter's Basilicia (where they were bum-rushed by 2 nuns late for prayer, one Filipina and one white nun at that). Scott got down on his knee in front of an enormous statue of St. Helena (the patron saint of new discoveries) and asked Leslie if she would marry him. (Lucky lady! Considering he had told her there was now way he would propose before their two year anniversary of dating...) She said YES...of course! The stress of holding the engagement ring from California to Europe was finally gone. Hallelujah.

For many years the love between Leslie and Scott has blossomed into the beginning of an amazing journey.

Who would of thought this New Jersey/Filipina girl and Nebraska/white boy would find each other after 40+ years of searching for true love?

Leslie and Scott did.
